Where We Meet – Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art

October 1, 2025 – January 11, 2025

I’m honored to be a part of the very last show in our MoCA’s current space before they move to their new facility on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University (soon to be Batten University in July 2026).

Where We Meet is a tribute to the Hampton Roads community, full of works by incredible local artists reflecting on themes drawn from our memories, our values, our landscapes, and our desires.

I paint subjects ranging from flowers to still lives, to landscapes. View my current portfolio and available pieces.

Printing allows me to tackle more humorous and fun projects, as well as natural subjects. I have works ranging from nature to fantasy. View my current portfolio and available pieces.

I can’t get enough of the luminous nature of watercolors. View my current portfolio and available pieces.

The unifying drive to almost every piece I execute is: details.

I love the unnoticed, ordinary things* that are absolutely beautiful but are generally missed in our busyness. In natural forms** – a favorite subject! – it’s the veining on a petal, the grain of wood, the shape of a leaf that carries its own drama, light passing through membrane, or the flower we call a weed. In living things, it’s the flow of fur, the light caught by the eye, or everyday moments we move through without thought – cooking, riding the metro, catching lunch with family. In landscapes, it’s the simple moments: the still quietness of snow, of twilight, of sunset. In still lives, again, it’s the ordinary things: the favorite teacup or bottle of liquor, the luminescence of farm eggs, the simple design of a woven basket.

I love the quiet, the stillness, the glory hidden in the ordinary.

The reality is that our lives are busy, and if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you’ll notice I generally have several projects going at once! Follow me on social to see my current calling, and sign up for my email list for updates on shows… and a possible future store. If you’d like to purchase artwork, reach out through my contact page. Keep scrolling to see my works by medium, or by series.

*Note: I absolutely love fantasy and mythology and this is 100% an exception to my usual subject matter. It mostly appears in my printmaking!

**Also note: I am worst person to hike with if you’re looking for speed, because I will absolutely stop and look at every single mushroom, shelf fungus, fallen tree, and boulder.

A Little Bit About Myself

I have chosen to not specialize in a singular media, but work in relief printing, watercolor painting, and oil painting. This lets me pick the medium that best suits the idea, and I find rotating keeps the joy fresh!
