Printmaking

My general approach to single block print editions is to let the first edition be open, and the edition variations are limited. Multi-block prints or reductive prints will always be limited editions. I currently sell my prints through a local galleries and shows. Reach out to me through my contact page to arrange a purchase!

Editions

In printmaking, an edition means all prints made in that set will be exactly the same, down to the ink colors and paper. An open edition means that I’m not limiting the prints I make in this particular ink on this specific paper – I feel art should be available for people to love! A limited edition means that I’ll only ever print a specific amount in those colors and on that paper, and each will be numbered. If you see “EV” on a print, it means that it’s an edition variation: the first edition was not in that color or on that paper.

Enjoy!

Borne of a love for fantasy, inspired by the art of Trina Schwartz Hyman (the cover art for the The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia Wrede, specifically), The Alchemist is the beginning of a series with fantasy themed subjects. A touch of gold watercolor highlights the gold nugget – the classic pursuit of alchemy.

Gourdgeous
2024
Available
Image 6″ x 8″

Gourdgeous is a jigsaw print: each section of color was cut out, inked, then reassembled and printed by hand. The extra color on the fancy gourds were applied by hand, so each of these prints is unique by nature.

Fancy gourds are one of my favorite things about autumn; I always end up purchasing far more than I mean to – the shapes and patterns are just so exciting!

Family at Monroe Beach, E.V.

The first block of this two layer print was carved on site at Monroe Beach in Hampton, Virginia, based on a family that was sitting in the waves. The blue background was added for the edition variation, and feature a slight blue to teal gradient. The paper is Hahnemühle gray-brown.

Baby Box
2023, Open
Available

Our backyard gets semi-frequent box turtle visits, and this print was inspired by an especially tiny visitor who gave me the judgemental stare as we greeted him.

This edition is open, as the paper is tinted with watercolors before printing and results in a unique print every time.
